Inspiration Behind Nina’s BT Artbox ‘Chatterbox’

Inspiration Behind Nina’s BT Artbox ‘Chatterbox’

To celebrate ChildLine’s 25th anniversary Nina Campbell was asked whether she would transform a replica of the Gilbert Scott phone box. She loved the idea and the cause and couldn’t wait to renovate the classic phone box. There were numerous aspects that Nina was inspired by which she thought would translate perfectly on to her ‘Chatterbox’.

The initial idea came from a mixture of old and new Nina Campbell fabric and wallpaper designs. The flowers growing up the box are from a new printed fabric that will be launched in our September 2012 collection, where as the butterflies are from the design Farfalla from our January 2009 collection. This design has been used for fabric, wallpaper, china and wrapping paper and has become one of Nina's signature designs.

The beautiful lady is from a design we produced as wrapping paper called 'Vogue Ladies'.

Nina wanted to introduce her to the box as she's a 1940's image, which Nina says reminds her of an elegant moment of when the iconic telephone boxes were first created.
