Kids Company Spring Clean

At the end of May Kids Company along with event founders Audrey Carden and Eleanora Cunietti are joined by Nina Campbell, Martin Brudnizki, William Yeoward, Joel Bernstein (Cocomaya), Danielle Proud, Jonathan Kelsey and Chris Bracey- who together, will produce an unforgettable interiors event.

In aid of Kids Company, a charitable organisation that provides, practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable children and young adults, will be holding a three day pop-up shop celebrating the best of British design talent. Shoppers will be able to walk away with designer pieces, bespoke items, art and photography at slashed prices.

Nina on Kids Company “I was first introduced to Kids Company when a daughter of a great friends invited me to a bongo-drumming event. Camila got up and gave one of her awe-inspiring talks. I turned to my friends daughter and said “I’ll do anything for this woman but I can’t deal with the bong-playing again-where do we go from here?”

I’ve worked with Camila and Kids Company for some time now. For our first project together, I got involved with House & Garden magazine and we recreated the interior of the home for one of the families. We were given so many donations, beds, paint, wallpapers and I’m sill in touch with the mother. Her little girl’s reading improved three years in three months, because she had somewhere instead of a roll of bubble wrap to sit on.”

Kids Company

The inspiration behind this event was a storage cupboard, bursting mainly with pieces that had been made bespoke for clients homes. Eleanora Cunietti and Audrey Carden decided to set-up Spring Clean when theirs had reached full capacity. They have now approached furniture brands, lighting suppliers, fabric companies, interior designers, antique dealers, artists and photographers to go through their achieves and cupboards and donate something that will be a stylish addition to someone’s home or workspace. So far, item donations are pouring in. They’ve had items from celebrities (just don’t ask us to kiss and tell who), artists’ estates and galleries – Gimpel Fils gallery are donating a Kate Moss print and king of neon Chris Bracey is creating three original neon artworks. Other items include a £14k Turkeman rug that will go for a song at £1,000, an antique room divider customised with hand-printed silks by wallpaper designer Elli Pop, lighting by Lee Broom, hand –made orchid light by Hermes collaborator, Emerad Faerie and vintage fabrics from Vivienne Westwood.

All items are priced to sell and the lucky buyers can feel good that their purchases, while going to a new home, will raise money for Kids Company.

We hope to create a fun day out with a variety of food trucks, a raffle and a champagne bar to augment the existing lunch options to help buyers and sellers through the day!
